eto po un ang difference in short hand method

Wi-Fi was originally a brand licensed by the Wi-Fi Alliance to describe the embedded technology of wireless local area networks (WLAN) based on the IEEE 802.11 specifications. Use of the term has broadened over time and is generically used to describe the wireless interface of mobile computing devices, such as laptops in LANs.
The term Wi-Fi was chosen as a play on the term "Hi-Fi", but is widely (and incorrectly) thought to be an abbreviation for WIreless FIdelity.

WiMAX is defined as Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access by the WiMAX Forum, formed in June 2001 to promote conformance and interoperability of the IEEE 802.16 standard, officially known as WirelessMAN. WiMAX aims to provide wireless data over long distances, in a variety of different ways, from point to point links to full mobile cellular type access.
