One difference obviously are the subjects. There are subjects in Computer Science that are not offered in CompTech. I think Comptech is a two or three-year course while BS in Computer Science is a 4-year course and is also a Bachelors Degree. Another thing would be, upon graduation BS Computer Science gradauates wear yellow hoods (if im not mistaken), while CompTech doesn't wear a hood (again, I might be wrong).

But when it comes to the IT Industry arena, all are the same. I often see CompTech graduates do Computer Science graduate's work, are are successful. Your course alone doesn't guarantee your success.

IMO, CompTech doesn not necessarily means IT since we also have a BSIT course which is a degree. CompTech refers to vocational computer technology courses.

IT is a generalized course which include software and harware subjects. Meaning, IT is a combination of COmpTech and ComSci.

Hello.

It's a very wide area of study. You don't learn it all in school.

When it comes to hardware, mas marunong dapat ang InfoTech.

I somewhat agree with neolle.

Kelangan kasi industry-standard ang tinuturo sa Pilipinas. E karamihan ng IT schools ngaun hindi ganun, so mag-aral nlng tau at magtake ng PhilNITS and other certification exams - Phil-IT CGE, ganun.

Tpos enhance mo n lng IT skills mo. Here in Cebu, web development ang nauuso. Kawawa nmn mga CompSci limited lng slots for software development crisis kc ngaun.. huhu...

I'm on my third year and all i can say is I'm happy that i chose this course. I'm proud na nakasurvive ako sa mga subjects and it helped me improve my logic skills.
