Yes, yes, yes... I do not argue with that. But IMO, the money that the country is receiving from our OFWs is nothing compared to the knowledge, man-power, ingenuity and talent that we are exporting. We are giving away our most important resources - people.

It's sad to see that our country in bleeding internally and we do nothing about it, or are we?

Hi Neolle...

We are our country's investment whom it hopes would help the country rise above its present situation. And it's really unfortunate for our country to lose what they have sown..knowledge, manpower and talents as you say. But come to think of it..even if you graduated with a BS degree, no matter how intelligent you are, finding a job that corresponds to your field is still a struggle. And even if you already have a job, the salary is very meager to support and help your family. Well I cannot blame those who wanted to go abroad immediately after they graduate...unless the government would provide opportunities in the country.

Nobody is wrong. It's all about personal perspectives. Working abroad is not wrong, not working is wrong. I just don't like the situation where we have to give off a number our best talents to others countries, and leaving us with only a few.

I agree the tax remittances from our OFWs are very helpful to our country, and I am really proud of them. But if you look at it, it is but a temporary solution. Our country is sick, debt burried and is getting worse. I would be glad to receive help from our country, but I do not expect it. I'll just do my part to help our country, and IMO the best place to help our country is here and not is some other places.

pwede naman mgbayad ng utang sa DOST while working in other countries..in the first place ang hirap humanap ng magandang opportunity d2 sa Pinas..lalo na sabi nila pag "di ka malapit sa paanan ng nasa taas".. Kung my work ka man, its not in line sa natapos mo..and maliit ang sahod..why wait when you can do something now kc kahit nasa ibang bansa ka malaki pa rin ang naitutulong mo d2 sa Pinas.

We should be thankful that there are government programs like the DOST Scholarship that helps our talented youths to get through college. I agree with adiklupet, we did sign a contract when we accepted the scholarship. The contract is clear, is it not?

This topic is getting, say, interresting. I would like to say in advance that my posts are from my personal opinion, as you may notice the IMOs (In My Opinion) in my posts. Just speak up and lets hear your opinion too... cool!

I am so much greatful to DOST..there is no question about it..but what was previously mentioned by kajames, we can still render service to the country even if are working abroad..in that case, we are into mutual ties.
